Settings have no effect

Check User, Remote and Workspace scopes. Use the current settings documented on the relevant page. Executable paths belong to the extension host. Themes control colors, language services supply semantics, and vendor tools determine build support.

Waveform exists but simulation has not run

A saved VCD and a live simulator session are different data sources. Check the source path, session status and output; start the interactive simulator to advance time.
